The Orrery
loading
The Orrery is a daydream of our solar system.
All objects within the orbit of Pluto with a radius larger than 400km are depicted, plus some extras. The orbital distances of planets and asteroids are scaled logarithmically; orbital distances of moons are not to scale.
Planet sizes are correct relative to one another, but are not scaled. There are large moons and small moons, but no precise scaling.
One second of real time equals one Earth day of simulated time. Rotation and revolution times are correct, but orbital speeds at a given point in the orbit are unlikely to be realistic.
The configuration currently shown may or may not have ever actually happened.
You may daydream as you wish.
